Mr. Aharon Nathan, an Israeli intellectual living in London, was guest lecturer of an evening lecture organized by Academy for Political Development on the 21st April 2009. Mr. Nathan’s visit to Zagreb was organized for the occasion of launching of his book „Total Representation”, co-authored by Mr. Ivo Škrabalo.

Tihomir Ponoš, historian and journalist of Novi List and alumnus of the APD gave a short introduction to the peace process in Israel and Palestine. Mr. Nathan’s lecture and a following discussion were moderated by dr.sc. Tvrtko Jakovina from the History Department, Faculty of Philosophy, Zagreb.

The intention of this evening lecture was to inform APD’s members about the current situation in the Middle East, as well as provide the historical context. Mr. Nathan also presented an analysis of the recent elections in Israel, his opinion on development of peace process, as well as relationship of Israel with the neighboring countries. In lively discussion after the lecture, participants – including certain Ambassadors from the Middle East region, as well as Europe, commented on the opinions and views presented during the lecture.
